What is
Bedding?
Bedding is the
collection of blankets, sheets, and pillowcases that cover your bed.
Bedding may be made out of any number of different
materials, but it is usually soft, comfortable, and warm.
Other characteristics of bedding are that it is
usually breathable, sometimes decorated to look a certain way, and often requires washing at least
a few times per month or week.
People buy bedding
because it is not very comfortable to sleep on a plain mattress, but they also buy bedding because
it prolongs the life of a pillow and/or mattress.

Also, it can help to keep these parts of a bed clean. It can be
very hard to actually clean a pillow, much less a mattress. Bedding can really help to keep your mattress and
pillow clean by providing them a cover.

Bedding can be made out of natural materials, like cotton, or out
of synthetic materials, like polyester. Usually, bedding is classified by its thread count. The higher a thread
count, the more comfortable it is and the longer it will last. However, a high thread count also typically means
that it will cost more.
Some bedding is made of silk or satin. Some people like these
materials, while some do not. A lot of times people will use silk or satin bedding for special occasions, but then
will switch to cotton for normal sleeping arrangements.
You can buy bedding either at you local store, or
over the internet. It really makes no difference where you buy. The main thing to remember is that bedding
needs to be the same size as the bed it is on, especially when you are going to be using fitted sheets. So make sure that you check your bed size
before buying the bedding; don't get a king bedding set for your queen size bed, or a
queen bedding set for your king size
bed!
