Bedding Buying
Considerations
Bedding comes in a
variety of sizes. As most beds are not necessarily set to a strict standard, you may want to
measure your mattress before going out to buy your bedding set.
If you're buying it
on the go, just opt for the nearest size to the one you have at home for e.g. twin, double, queen,
or king size
bedding.
Check the depth of
the fitted sheet as well to ensure that it
will fit over the corners of your bed. If it does, there are clips available that will secure your
fitted sheet to your mattress.

Bedding often comes in sets that include the fitted lower
part, the flat sheet and two to four pillow cases. Pillow cases generally fit standard sized pillows but can be
longer to accommodate pillows for queen or king size beds. All pieces in the set are typically of the same color or
design and made from the same fabric and of the same thread count.

When making a bed, the fitted sheet
will fit snug once it’s put on correctly; the top sheet can be oriented based on a double fold found at the head of
the sheet. Many sheets can also be used on either sides, but generally the brighter side is designated as the
top.
Bedding sets vary in price, and can
be found in any home decor store; sheets with higher thread counts are generally more expensive and if made from
fabrics such as Egyptian cotton, can be quite pricey.
Make sure to feel the fabric if you
are in doubt of how soft it will feel and if touching is not an option you can buy a sheet based on the ones you
have at home or choose a thread counter higher if you are unhappy with your current spread.
